"We have many associate members, who have international standard venues and it is our duty to give them all a chance to host an international match. Hence, we stick to the rotation policy, which we are following for a long time, and I don’t know why the England Board is complaining about it," Niranjan Shah told Cricketnext.com on Tuesday.
"Even when India toured England last time around, the matches were held in far off venues but we never complained. Unfortunately the ECB is making a big issue out of nothing," he added.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have shown disappointment after receiving the proposed itinerary for the tour as no major venues like Kolkata, Bangalore and Chennai feature in the itinerary and have decided to hold back its approval.
"ECB are disappointed that, despite their representations, the itinerary doesn't offer the thousands of supporters who follow the England team abroad, the opportunity to experience more of the great cricket grounds of India," the Board said in a statement on Monday.
"As far as the ECB are concerned the acceptance of the itinerary remains subject to acceptable logistical arrangements and an acceptable security environment and security arrangements being in place at each of the venues," it added.
